Webflow Pros
Let’s your business truly stand out online
Webflow lets your business look different, confidently stand out, and get noticed online. You can have a website that looks custom and unique compared to your competitors. If you are a designer offering Webflow websites to customers, there are no limits to what you can create. That will help your clients to compete online in style.
Easy to blog and to sell products
With most platforms to run a blog or a shop, you will need to do extra integrations, which brings limitations and complications. Webflow lets you blog and sell products online simply with your website. Especially considering the unmatched customization opportunities Webflow gives for the blog and eCommerce pages, no platform can provide that.
You can launch big websites with unlimited custom pages
Webflow lets you create any number of custom pages and generate multiple similar pages automatically. You don’t need to make every page manually like you will need to in Showit. In Webflow, you can have similar pages for your services or programs created automatically. That means you can have a big website with tons of well-organized and structured pages that would be easy to update and with less effort.
Visual editing without any code
You can launch a sophisticated website without a line of code that makes it easy to edit, even for people far from the web design. Even highly engaging interactive elements can be created and edited without any technical knowledge unlike other platforms.
Custom websites but easy to manage and update
You can have a unique-looking custom website without the downside of not being able to update it. Webflow websites have one of the most easy-to-use, clean, and minimal content management system in the market. As a result, my clients never had any problems managing and updating their websites.
You can’t “ruin” the website
Webflow automatically creates website backups that are easy to come back to at any time. So if you or your client was unsuccessfully “playing around,” you can always reverse all the unwanted changes.
Speed & SEO
Webflow websites are fast! It’s a given fact. The code written by the platform is well structured and clean, which makes it great for user experience and SEO.
Custom educational portals (coming soon)
That is an exciting one! Webflow is launching memberships soon! And what it means for many businesses selling courses online, you wouldn’t need to use third-party platforms like Kajabi or Teachable anymore. You can have all your educational content and video courses right on your website under your domain. If you are an educator or a coach selling programs, that might be a big one for your business. I can’t wait to let you use this offer and level up your education business, but for now, you can put your name on a educational portal waitlist here. And I will notify you once it's available.
Some Websites I've crafted with Webflow Ecommerce:
Webflow Cons
Might be harder to find a Webflow designer
It seems that Webflow is focusing on startup-type and corporate customers for their platform. And most Webflow designers and developers would work in a “start-up” style. So if you are looking to launch an elegant website for a small business, your choice might be limited. But the good news is that you are in the right place. If you think we are a good match, let’s talk!
Limited styles for the templates
If you are not ready for a custom solution and looking to launch the website from a template. As I mentioned above, most Webflow template designers would work in a “Start-up” style, and the website templates might look a little geeky. So if you are looking for something elegant and feminine, your template options might be limited. But don’t get discouraged, there are options, and it is totally worth looking. Don’t forget to check my exclusive conversion-led elegant Webflow templates for your business and my templates on the Zerocodegirl Webflow Marketplace.
Steep learning curve
If you are a designer thinking of learning Webflow, it might take longer than learning other platforms, but rewards are definitely worth it. You can offer totally next-level solutions to your customers.
Showit Pros
Easy to start
It is really amazing how simple is the start with the Showit platform. You jump straight into the choice of templates and after quick customization, you can launch your new website. The process is very simple and straightforward.
Simple visual editing
Working with Showit feels more like working with a static graphic design application, where everything is predictable. Elements would be exactly where you want them to be. You can create any type of layout without worrying about how the element will react if you resize the window.
Choice of templates
Showit platform is focusing on helping photographers, service providers, different types of creative businesses. Most of the templates would be built around sales & conversions. So, I would say, Showit has a great choice of templates for small businesses who are looking to launch a cost-effective website.
Faster development speed
Showit demands less involvement in technical stuff which gives you more time to focus on the business side of the project. You can create artistic layouts without thinking too much about the way elements would perform on the page. The way Showit is organized will let your layout look exactly the way you want without technical overwhelm.
Support
The way the support and help systems are built-in inside the Showit makes it easier to just start designing. The support is very friendly and ready to help.
Showit Cons
Creative limitations
I would say Showit looks to me more like a graphic editor rather than a web-based platform. There are definitely limitations to what you can do in Showit. But most of the websites would come out looking rather static than dynamic and interactive. But I would say it’s more my personal feeling about the Showit.
Blog & Ecommerce need extra integrations
There are always complications involved when you have to use different systems and combine them together. From my experience, the simpler the solution - is better. Otherwise, things become overly complicated and difficult to manage. For example when you need to run a WordPress blog or a separate Shopify store to accommodate your products. It just can become overwhelming to manage.
A lot of manual work involved
Showit platform doesn't let you create similar pages automatically, and you will need to create each page manually. Similar story with the mobile version. You will have to make, pretty much, a separate version of the website for mobile.
Need for a custom code
If you are a fan of interactive sections and smooth animations Showit might be challenging for you. You can achieve certain effects in Showit by using the custom code. But it’s not an obvious thing to do for some designers and especially for those who are not coming from a technical background.
Why do I choose Webflow as a platform for my projects?
There is no one answer. Different clients, different projects will benefit from different platforms. Webfow is just my personal choice, it allows me to implement things that I see as valuable solutions for my clients.
How customers benefit from Webflow
Advantages Webflow gives to a developer are great and uncountable. But the customer is the one who would end up with the website for the long term. Of course, the fact that Webflow lets them have a website that stands out in the crowd is already a lot. But there is also a part when the client has to be able to manage the website after the handover. And that’s where I just love the Webflow CMS system. I never heard of any difficulties and confusion, it’s just easy to work with.
Webflow over other platforms
Again, it’s just my personal preference. I really appreciate the freedom and uncompromised approach. I don’t need to think things like… ohhh if I only can build it on my platform. I know that I can, just a question of time and necessity.
Working with multiple platforms
Most designers would offer multiple platforms based on the client’s needs. But I feel like I just don’t want to blur my focus by working with other platforms. So I am going deep into one and making the most out of it.
Everything in this article is only my personal opinion based on my experience. I am not affiliated with any of the platforms mentioned above.
